Welcome to Our World

Music and Lyrics by Michael Kent

Sung by Michael Kent

We don't know where you came from, Baby Tristyn,

We do not know just where in time and space

But welcome to our world, sweet Baby Tristyn

Welcome to this strange, enchanted place.

For we have seashells and rainbows,

Mountain streams and winter snows

Bumblebees and baby toes

And nightingales that sing.

This world has trouble, too,

And skies aren't always bright and blue

And yet we've seen a dream come true, in you.

And we have ice cream cakes and candy bars

And ships that sail and three-wheeled cars

And space ships that will fly to Mars

And nightingales that sing.

So welcome to this place called Earth,

Where love's the measure of one's worth,

And, in spite of all, it's filled with mirth, and you.

For we have hooty owls and snorty hogs

And unicorns and horny frogs

And two-toed sloths and wrinkled dogs,

And nightingales that sing.
